Breast Reduction
2min ReadBreast Reduction surgery, commonly known as Mammoplasty, is an operation which is performed to reduce the size and shape of the breast, including the extraction of the adipose tissue and other similar ones. Breast reduction surgery is performed when the breasts have completely grown, that is, the late teens or the early twenties. It is suggested that this procedure be performed after pregnancy because during this period the tissue of the breast changes a lot. People who have large breasts can reduce their neck and back pain by undergoing this procedure and increase their self-confidence. In this operation, excess fat and excess skin are removed and occasionally it may be necessary to move the nipples. Liposuction may also be used to separate breast fat.
Recovery From Breast Reduction
The Surgery for improving breast loss usually lasts 6 to 8 weeks. It takes at least 6 weeks to reduce inflammation and swelling of the breasts so that the breasts become soft and natural. Usually 2 to 3 weeks after the surgery the stitches open.
Related Preoperative Evaluations
Before the surgery, your doctor will review your general medical history and general health. Then your breasts will be measured.
Before, During and After Breast Reduction
Before the Procedure
Avoid eating and drinking 8 hours before the surgery (in some cases from the night before the surgery) and talk to your doctor about the possible risks, benefits and the surrogate options.
During the Procedure
Probably a cut around the nipple is made. The location of this cut will probably be visible. It may also start from the nipple and go down.
After cutting, the fat and tissue are added. In some cases, the nipple needs to be regenerated or displaced, and sometimes liposuction may be used to extract excess fat. After extraction of fay and the extra tissue, a surgical operation is performed. This surgery is usually done under the anesthesia, but in the mild ones, a local anesthetic can also be used. Breast drop surgery takes about 2-3 hours.
After the Procedure
It is necessary for the person to coordinate with another to stay with him after the surgery for 1-2 days. Aspirin should also be avoided to use unless the physician authorizes it. In the end, it is necessary to avoid hearing aids and smoke, as this is one of the main inhibitors of the recovery process.
