Browlift | Forehead Lift
2min ReadBrowlift, also known as Forehead Lift, is a cosmetic procedure performed to raise the skin of the forehead, eyebrows and the upper eyelids. After undergoing the surgery, the eyes will appear larger and the wrinkles will be eliminated, giving the skin a more rejuvenated and pleasing look.
Recovery From Browlift
The timeline for resuming daily activities depends on the individual. It is advised that one return to his normal life whenever he feels the time for. However, he might avoid work out up to 3 weeks after a browlift. It is best to consult the surgeon about these issues.
Related Preoperative Evaluations
Prior to surgery, the surgeon will review the medical history of the patient. He will also conduct physical examinations to determine the appropriate treatment option. The examination will be done on different parts of the face with the eyes opened and closed.
Before, During and After Browlift
Before the Procedure
The surgeon will probably ask the patient to stop certain medications such as aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs, and herbal supplements. It is also recommended for the patient to arrange for someone to accompany him/her back to the hotel.
During the Procedure
In the first method, the surgeon makes an incision on the hairline and removes a small amount of excess skin. Then, the surgeon lifts the skin and when it is positioned correctly, he closes the incision with stitches. In another method, the surgeon makes several small incisions behind the hairline. Then, he inserts a tiny tube which has a camera attached to it. Now the surgeon inserts the required instruments through the incisions and lifts the skin. At last, the incisions are closed with stitches.
Browlift is performed with the aid of general or local anesthesia and takes about 1 to 2 hours.
After the Procedure
The individual should elevate his/her head while resting and also take the prescribed medications. It is also advised for the patient to use an ice-pack to relieve swelling; excessive pressure should be avoided on the site of the incision.
