Water therapy or hydrotherapy, it is a therapeutic method to alleviate physical injuries, management of pain and help strengthen bones, muscles and joints. Hydrotherapy is a type of physiotherapy in water, where athletes or injured people perform sports and reformative exercises in water according to their problem.
The basis of this type of treatment is for the relaxation of the body when immersed in water due to its buoyancy, for this reason, patients can move their muscles and body with minimal effort during the execution of this movement. Also, because the pressure of body on the joints is reduced, it results in less discomfort or pain when performing the movements. In addition to the fact that water, with its exhilarating and joyful feature, creates the enthusiasm needed to practice repetition and execution of movements.
This therapeutic approach is carried out through the body’s reaction to the pressure caused by water, to warm and cold stimuli, to the positive effects of water itself, staying in hot water for a long time, reduces the body’s sensitivity to pain and promotes blood flow. Hydrotherapy with warm water, in addition to soothing and relaxing the body, also reduces activity of the internal organs of the body.
