Cells that develop abnormal proliferation and so-called brain tumors are not always removable by brain tumor surgery, forewise, in malignant brain tumors where cancer cells spread in areas beyond the mass limits, by removing the tumor, they will remain intact. Or in cases where malignant tumors are released from other parts of the body to the brain called brain metastasis, it is not possible to remove this large number of malignant masses in different parts of the brain. In such patients, gamanayev and radiation therapy are used after surgery. Gamanayev and radiotherapy means X-rays shining into the area of the body where cancer cells have spread like the brain. Malignant cells that are proliferating rapidly and out of control are more sensitive to radiation than normal cells and are prevented from proliferating or destroyed by receiving radiation.

Gamanayev is a radio plastic brain procedure in which doctors treat deep brain lesions without the need for surgery and open the patient’s sentence. This highly advanced technology allows for the treatment of even the deepest parts of the brain that cannot be accessed by conventional surgery. In one session, hundreds of gamma radius emitted from a cobalt source are concentrated into the tumor. This radiation is such that normal and vital brain tissues receive the least possible radiation and are not damaged. Gamanayev is a device with special geometry, with 201 cobalt 60 radioactive eyes, each with a separate navigator and designed in such a way that the output beam from the springs is concentrated at one point. By placing the treatment point in the helmat center of the treatment device, the greatest effect is applied to the desired area, and the lowest amount of radiation reaches the healthy tissues.

Benefits of Gamanayev’s treatment:

 It is an effective method for the treatment of incurable lesions by conventional surgeries.
 There is no need to shave head hair or open the skull.
 There is no need for anesthesia in this method and the patient remains immune from the complications of anesthesia.
 Complications after routine surgeries such as infection, adhesion, etc. Does not exist.
 Treatment is carried out within a few hours and the patient returns home the same day.
 There is no need to recover from illness.
 More accuracy, safety and getting better results are the advantages of this treatment compared to conventional surgeries.
 It costs much less than usual surgeries.

Gamanayev Treatment Method

First, the patient’s conditions and conditions are examined by an efficient specialized team consisting of neurosurgeon, neurologist, neurologist, radiotherapy specialist (oncologist) and medical physicist, and if this treatment is appropriate for the patient, the turn of the operation will be determined. Normal duration of treatment is predicted between 3 and 5 hours and the whole treatment process is performed in one day. In order to direct gamma rays to the tumor, a special frame is strapped to the patient’s head and then imaging including MRI or CT scan and in some cases angiography is performed to determine the exact location of the tumor or brain lesion. After that, the images are transferred to the special computer and identified by the team of physicians about the tumor and then the design of the treatment is performed and the patient is treated with radiosurgery by gamanayev method. After treatment, the frame of the patient’s head is opened and monitored for a short time. The patient is then discharged with the necessary recommendations. Depending on the size of the lesion, the operation typically lasts between 30 minutes and three hours. Most patients return home on the same day and can resume their daily activities from the next day of surgery.

Gamanayev Side Effects

The possibility of side effects in this treatment compared to open surgery, external radiotherapy and similar treatment methods is low and may be minimal.
• Fatigue: Fatigue may occur in the first few weeks after gamanayev radiosurgery.
• Swelling: Swelling of the brain in the treated area or in the nearby area can cause symptoms such as headache, nausea and vomiting. Your doctor may prescribe anti-inflammatory drugs (corticosteroids) to prevent these problems or treat symptoms.
• Scalp and hair problems: The scalp may become red and sensitive where the device is attached to the head during treatment. Some people may temporarily lose some of their hair.
People may rarely experience long-term side effects, such as other brain or neurological problems, months after gamanayev radiosurgery.
Gamanayev is used in the treatment of vascular lesions in the brain, brain tumors and functional brain diseases. it’s used. Gamanayev’s treatment ends in just a few hours, providing patients with conditions that no longer require surgery. Most patients gain the ability to return to their daily lives immediately after treatment.
